Tom Simon has more than 15 years of experience in the GPS/GNSS field, using recreational, mapping grade, and survey grade GPS. He has used these tools for base station setup and RTK survey, elevation measurement for groundwater monitoring, environmental remediation planning and results mapping, and may other creative applications.

Tom has worked in both urban and rural environments, including the remote Pribilof Islands, Alaska in the Bering Sea.
Recent Project: Using highly accurate Trimble Mapping grade GPS receivers, I recently helped a client do detailed tree mapping in a challenging, cliff side environment. By training and mentoring the client to gather their own data using GPS, we completed the project at a much lower cost than possible with a traditional survey project.
